Our Story
Brood and Barley is located at 411 Main Street in North Little Rock, AR.
Our journey began with a passion for creating exceptional dining experiences, and that's exactly what we've been doing for the past 5 years. From our humble beginnings, we have grown into a beloved establishment, known for our innovative dishes and warm hospitality.

Brayan McFadden
Originally from Pennsylvania, Brayan brings East Coast sensibility to Southern hospitality—melding bold, seasonal flavors with elevated takes on pub classics. From house-made pierogies to a shaved ribeye cheesesteak, his menu is rooted in scratch cooking, intentional sourcing, and neighborhood appeal.
With a culinary background shaped by both fine dining and comfort food traditions, Brayan helped launch Brood & Barley in 2020 during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Brayan is passionate about fostering local talent, creating spaces where food brings people together, and building a bar and kitchen that stays both approachable and ambitious. Whether he’s developing seasonal specials or pouring a pint for a regular, his focus remains on craft, connection, and consistency.
Jess McMullen
A true restaurateur with a passion for community and craft beer, Jess McMullen has become a driving force in North Little Rock’s Argenta Arts District. As co-founder of The Pizza Pub and co-owner of Brood & Barley, Jess brings vision, leadership, and a love of hospitality to every concept he helps create.
Rooted in a belief that great food and drink can bring people together, Jess began his career in hospitality in Ashville, NC working his way through the ranks gaining a deepend passion along the way. He helped launch Brood & Barley in 2020 alongside his cousin, Chef Brayan McFadden. Together, they’ve built a space known for its scratch kitchen, curated beer selection, and warm, neighborhood feel.
Jess is committed to growing local talent, supporting the city’s creative energy, and developing thoughtful, lasting places that feel like home. Whether he's crafting a new idea or simply sharing a beer with guests, his focus is always on people, purpose, and place.
